I have been looking at the Lily collection of patterns from fabric-store for a while now, but all along I presumed that sewing these pieces would be difficult. I noted in the reviews that some people got stuck on the pocket construction, and I already suspected that the front bracket and sleeves would pose a challenge, however, at this point I would like to interrupt myself as I was wrong on all accounts! I usually tend to lean towards simple patterns for sewing, sans complex details that can be sewn quickly, as with a very active infant, there is no way to find a lot of time for my hobby. Aike many moms, I sew at night when the kids are already asleep.

I like everything in this collection: the dress, the skirt and the tunic, I haven’t come across any pattern similar to this one on the net so giving thanks to the designers on a good job for this pattern.
There are a lot of details in Lily’s pattern which at first slightly confused me but I really fell in love with this silhouette of dress and skirt so I decided to try it. When I started sewing, I got hooked very quickly and I couldn’t stop! When you start putting the details together, itstarts to fit like a puzzle and the further you go, the more interesting it becomes! I followed the concise instructions and I didn’t encounter any problems, on the contrary, I couldn’t wait to finish as soon as possible to see the result. In addition, the fabric-store blog has a detailed tutorial with pictures of each step of tailoring.
I chose size 6, as I always choose this size for patterns from fabric-store and they fit me perfectly, I did not make any adjustments in the pattern.
For the Lily dress, I used medium-weight linen in Fungi color, and for the Lily skirt I went for medium-weight linen in Apple Cinnamon color.
I have already worn the skirt many times over and it turned out to be a very comfortable fit, optimal for sitting down, bending down, walking with kids. I am sure it will be my favorite this summer!
I complemented the skirt with a cropped top of the same color, I also sewed a white top and it also looks beautiful!
The pockets of this pattern are love, it is an interesting detail that makes this model special. I have not seen such pockets anywhere, although I have tried a lot of patterns lately! And please don’t be afraid of pockets, it’s much easier to sew them than it seems! 🙂 After making the two garments, I can now sew them with my eyes closed.

I love the top you made to go with the Lilly skirt pattern, would you share the top pattern.
Yes, of course! This is Sienna crop top, from SlowSewingStudio, I bought this pattern on Etsy. And I made the square neck myself
