Pink (and blue) elephants on parade! These little baby outfits were made from the new nursery prints offered by fabrics-store.com! These beautiful hand-drawn, watercolor prints can be used for children’s clothing and various projects but primarily they have been designed to be used for baby bedding. How sweet would these fabrics be for crib sheets? Most of the collection coordinates in color tone but the little animal fabrics especially, pair perfectly with the pink or blue gingham fabric. I’m excited to share how I used the four fabrics that came to me.
Since all of my children are adults now and I primarily sew for baby gifts for others, I was inspired to make something beyond baby bedding. I decided to use these perfectly complimenting animal and gingham fabrics to make my original Ma Ma Osa Jumper Pattern in size 3-6 months. I knew right away the animals would work well for the body of the outfit and the gingham for coordinating bias tape trim that would be featured in the ties. You can also make this as a gift for someone you know or for your own little ones since the pattern comes in 0-24 month sizing and has video tutorials to walk you through each step. Another very on trend idea is to fashion the fabric into quilt or patchwork pieces like color blocking and then use them for the little outfits. This pattern only requires one yard of fabric so it would be a relatively fast quilt project.
The project ideas for babies are limitless. Like mentioned before, crib sheets are a wonderful use for this fabric and a quick search online will find you many free crib sheet patterns! You could also make shopping cart seat covers, changing table pad covers, beautiful little quilted play mats, and many other clothing items for little ones. I hope I’ve inspired some ideas and you enjoy sewing with this new collection.
We all want the best fabrics for our little ones to wear, play or rest on. Here are all the important details: the cotton fabric has been printed on an Italian digital machine, using high-quality printing and dye materials. Again, they are hand drawn and watercolor artwork.
