Warlene Rene Styling Tips: BLEACHED Linen Skirt with Flower Detail Three Ways
I’m looking forward to share fun ways in which I incorporate new pieces into my closet. My background in design and styling has allowed me to see and play around with limitless ways when it comes to dressing up. When I create a piece, simultaneously I am always thinking about garments I already own and how they will pair with each other. To keep your look fresh, it is great to add new concepts and silhouettes that change up your style. Today, I am sharing how to take one piece and see how it can work into your lifestyle for various occasions.
Skirts are a great way to add interest while putting looks together. Skirts flatter all figures when the right silhouette is chosen. I like that skirts can be statements on their own, layered, or a good way to camouflage. My favorite style skirts are pencil style with a side slit.
For this skirt, since I used BLEACHED Medium Weight Linen, I didn’t make the skirt as fitted but retained that pencil like silhouette. I designed this with a 4” elastic waist that eased in the fulness nicely. The hand draped flowers at the waist and along the skirt added weight that forces the skirt to hang straight. They also bring balance and interest.
Here I wore my favorite vintage leather blazer paired with a black body suit. Something fitted and simple with the oversized coat adds balance, and since the skirt has the floral detail it remains at the centre of attention. Paired with these pearl studded booties makes for a super sleek look.
Paired with this crochet top I can see myself at brunch or even an evening outfit. As a rule, if I have a statement boot on, I will go lighter on accessories. I’m usually in all neutral colors and something I love to do is mix beiges and whites together- leaves me feeling crisp and fresh.
Graphics tees are a must for me- both stylish and relaxing. Here because I added some accessories it made the look both cool and chic. I could take this so many places because the skirt still dresses this up a bit.

I’ve never thought of a skirt as a focal point but you nailed it with those roses. I love how you dressed it up, but also dressed it down. Nice article and great look.
