Ceramics paint fun for the whole fam Tutorial
Ever since I painted the linen flax plate, my 6 year old son has been asking me to paint him a mug. So today instead of the mug, he will be getting his own little plate. Inspired by the simplicity of Donna Wilson’s ceramics, here is a really easy tutorial on how to make something really sweet and cheeky for the table.
Level: Beginner
Time: 30 mins
Materials:
a ceramic plate
A porcelain marker (1mm thickness, I used Marabu in black)
tracing paper
scissors
pencil
a little tape
1. Print out the design and trace it with a pencil
2. Place the tracing paper onto plate, secure with tape, pencil side facing the plate. Take your pencil and go over all lines pressing firmly
3. You will be left with a faint line of your outlines. Trace them carefully with a porcelain pen. Take time. If all goes wrong, wash the paint off with warm water and soap.
4. Once your design is done, follow manufacturers instructions on how to secure paint. Usually baking it at a low temp for about 30 minutes.
Have fun!

Every garment needs seam allowance—it’s a crucial part of garment construction.
