Pattern Review: A Perfect Robe for Cosy Mornings
Robes are my weakness, as I spend a lot of time with my kids at home, you want to have quality and comfortable home clothes. And it’s lovely to spend your slow mornings in a comfortable linen robe like Amalfi. The cozy kimono-style robe will fit perfectly into your daily routine. With a loose fit and dropped shoulders, a waist tie, and patch pockets and sleeve cuffs, you can mix and match details to design the day robe that you like best.
The pattern could not have been easier to assemble. I’ve had my eye on Amalfi for a while and it didn’t disappoint. I love the big, roomy pockets as well.
I had to shorten the length as it was too long for my height. I cut back about 7 inches.
Honestly, I love sewing things that I don’t have to mess around with, “simple and quick” is my motto! I didn’t even have to look in the instructions, it was so easy.
For this robe, I chose All-purpose midweight Parchment Fs Signature Finish linen, and I love this soft flowing fabric! But at the same time, I think this pattern works well with other types of fabrics, for example, you could use waffle fabric, also available at fabrics-store.com.
If you are new to sewing, I can safely recommend this pattern for your first project.
I also plan to take this robe to my hospital birth, it’s easy to put on and take off and will be comfortable to feed the baby in. And besides all that, gowns can really be very pretty and stylish!
In my last pregnancy, I spent a long time looking for the right hospital gown, and what I saw either didn’t appeal to me or cost an insanely expensive amount of money.
I’m glad I tried this pattern and will certainly use it again! It could be other colors, experimenting with length, and more!
This super cute and comfortable house robe is just what I needed to stay nice and cozy.
