BRIGHT Linens Worth Enjoying
A quick search online will find you many articles that support the fact that bright colors can positively affect your mood. I have had a rough season since the start of 2023 so maybe this is why I am enthralled with what I just made with Fabrics-Store Raspberry and Tangelo Signature Finish Linens. They are so pleasing together and what Anna Nunez did with them is even better.
Anna is a fine artist here in St Pete Florida. She has a lovely website where you can find all her work. She also has a monthly color series that she shares with her email family. Fuchsia was her chosen color for May. The Raspberry Linen looks very similar to the fuchsia she chose as inspiration. On her blog and in her email she shares the history and theory of this color, why it inspired her, the two lovely works of art she created with this color, the most aesthetically pleasing Pinterest board you could imagine AND she wears the Linen set she commissioned from me, Ma Ma Osa.
I used the FS Zina Top two sizes up for Anna as she wanted the Tangelo top to be more baggy or flowy. This is a really user friendly pattern in my opinion and this is probably the tenth time I’ve used it to make a dress or top. So basically I’m an expert on the Zina now. 😉 The pattern also has pocket options but we went with no pockets on the shirt this time. I used an original Ma Ma Osa pant pattern for the Raspberry shorts. It has a high waist, pockets and 1.5 inch elastic. It is a very comfortable option for the summer and since it is made from the pants pattern, it’s easy to customize the length. We went with a 3.5 inch inseam but a wide hem. She then paired them with a simple knit cotton tank and we are both pleased with the results.
This set is definitely an encouragement to me to step out of my usual autumn color tones and try something bright and cheery. I am sure you can join me in imagining the Raspberry in a full dress for attending a summer wedding. The Deep Ultramarine in a sleek silhouette with green heels for an evening summer party. Or the Tangelo in a structured crop top and flowy bottom set with white sandals for your summer getaway… or staycation! Because treat – your – self!
If you need a mood boost and a fresh look this summer, I suggest checking out the many bright color options available right now in the 5.3 oz linen section. The texture of the signature finish linen is so amazing so do check that out as well if you haven’t yet. I just want to sit with Anna and eat a basket of raspberries and tangelo oranges and smile.

Hi Ma Ma, does this linen get a little thicker after washing? It seems so light for pants…
