PATTERN REVIEW: Capucine Bathrobe in Heavyweight Mix Natural Linen
Recently on fabric-store.com I saw a new Capucine pattern and decided that I absolutely must sew this robe to welcome the cozy summer eves in it.
I sewed a dressing gown for the first time and already in the process imagined how, wrapped in a warm blanket, I drink a cup of coffee and watch my favorite movie in this cozy bathrobe.
For sewing, I chose size 8 to make the robe look oversized, although I usually use size 6 in fabric-store patterns, besides, I am in the last week of pregnancy and I think that a robe one size larger will fit me perfectly, the robe is great suitable for any stage of pregnancy, as the belly is well covered. I plan to wear it after childbirth; this model has a belt that helps you adjust the size, no matter what size you are at the moment.
It took me a while to choose a color and finally decided on a neutral tone, one of my favorite colours is MIX NATURAL FS Premier Finish. I chose heavyweight linen to make the robe feel weightier on the body, but I think that medium linen would also work well with this pattern.
As for the sewing process, I want to say that I sewed this garment with great pleasure, fabric-store patterns always have detailed step-by-step sewing instructions, and this can help you a lot if you have any problems. I did not make any changes to the pattern.
I love the wrinkles of linen, so after washing, I very rarely use linen ironing, as you can see in the pictures.
